what to eat

Our Philosophy

Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat.

Greg Glassman ``What is Fitness?`` CrossFit Journal (Oct. 2002) pg. 1

The recommended and most popular eating habits at CrossFit West Chester are based on the Paleo or Primal diet.

This diet focuses on consuming natural food.  Natural food is food that has not been processed in anyway.

The main focus is meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, nuts, berries and seeds.   We strive to eat locally grown, organic crops as well as grass fed and free range cattle and poultry.    By following these guidelines, we end up eating in the same fashion as our paleolithic ancestors.

What you put into your body greatly affects your performance.   It is difficult to get the all the nutrients we need to better our performance through a standard diet alone.

Supplements help fill the nutritional  gap between diet and performance.

CrossFit West Chester is a true believer in Isotonix nutrition supplements. Their unique delivery system ensures over 95% – 99% absorption of nutrients into the gut when taken correctly as opposed to 30% from a tablet/capsule.

Meal Delivery

Properly fueling your body before and after workouts is vital to maximizing your results in the gym.  Unfortunately it is hard to find the time needed to cook healthy and well balanced meals.

To help alleviate this problem, Crossfit West Chester has partnered with Kettlebell Kitchen and P3 Nutrition.

These delicious meals are cooked and dropped off fresh to our industrial refrigerator twice a week.   Kettlebell Kitchen offers focused and custom tailored meal plans to help you achieve your personal goals.
