Sheldon played many sports as a kid, but found his calling as a semi-professional paintball player from the ages of 14-18, when he was able to travel the country to compete in tournaments. He gave it up to attend Penn State University where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. After spending years as a gym rat at PSU, he was introduced to CrossFit in 2008 and was hooked immediately. Not only by the workouts, but the philosophy, theory, and science of Greg Glassman and the CrossFit Journal. After performing workouts on his own for nearly 2 years, he joined CrossFit Delaware Valley in 2010. In 2013, he joined the coaching staff at CrossFit Harmony, where he coached for 1.5 years. In 2015, CrossFit Harmony closed and Sheldon moved on to co-owning and coaching at CrossFit Front Runner until the end of 2016.
