Mobility & Yin Yoga
Mobility: Tues/Thurs 5:00pm – 5:30pm
This class focuses on ways to improve our movement and body mechanics by increasing flexibility. The goal is to help prevent injury, speed up recovery and improve overall performance in the gym and with regular daily activity. Our daily activity can wreak havoc on our flexibility, movement, and recovery. Some basic maintenance on our selves can go a long way to improving our overall well being.
Mobility class is taught by Jimmy Wiser, NASM certified in Post Rehabilitation with over 10 years of experience with the post rehab and geriatric populations and a degree in Kinesiology. The mobility class currently meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5PM. The class runs 30 to 40 minutes.
Yin Yoga: Mon@10:45am / Thurs@6pm / Fri@11am
Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active style of asana practice.
Suitable for almost all levels of students, Yin Yoga is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine.
This class is taught by massage therapist and Yin Yoga certified Dana Hurley.
